Essential form security

The portrait_journey cookie keeps your website form session secure and helps prevent unauthorised submissions. It lasts up to 12 hours. Blocking it prevents forms from being submitted.

Remembering an instruction in progress

If the response to a signed instruction is interrupted, this browser tab temporarily keeps the exact request so it can check whether the instruction was accepted. It is removed when acceptance is confirmed, when the tab session ends, or when the website next checks it after 12 hours. This storage is used to recover your request, not for analytics.

Optional first-party analytics

If you allow analytics, Portrait counts page views, selected links and buttons, and form starts. These events include the page path and a session identifier. They do not include your entered form values or URL query strings. We use the counts to understand how the website is used and where journeys need improvement.

Your yes or no choice is saved in this browser as portrait-analytics until you change it or clear the site’s storage. Withdrawing permission stops further optional event collection. Clearing your browser’s storage removes the saved choice.

Chat, when you open it

Opening Ask Portrait starts the customer chat service. It uses a visitor identifier and a tab session identifier to maintain your conversation, and remembers choices such as whether chat is open. Tab storage ends with the browser session; persistent chat preferences remain until you clear the site’s storage. Chat is not loaded merely because you visit a page.

My Account and other Portrait applications have their own necessary login and security storage. Their notices apply when you open those services. Your analytics choice on this website is not marketing consent.

Managing browser storage

Your browser settings let you inspect, block or remove cookies and site storage. Removing essential storage can interrupt a form or a chat. You can refuse optional analytics while continuing to use the website.
